Municipal Court

The Municipal Court of Montreal is located in an annex of City Hall, a heritage building completed in 1913 that lies between Gosford Street and Bonsecours Street in Old Montreal

QMD was contracted in 2016 to renovate the ventilation and heating systems within the two annexes on each side of the building. So as to avoid any interruption to municipal services, a temporary air-conditioning and heating system was installed on an annex roof. As a result, we were able to demolish the existing elements and renovate the entire system

However, while carrying out these works, we discovered that a service tunnel to the north of the building was in very bad repair. We completed all the necessary excavation, reinforcing and renovation work within the established timeline

This mandate took over a year and we tackled challenges related to winter weather and the location of the site (in the heart of Old Montreal near the Municipal Court, an important and busy building). We are used to working in occupied locations so we took care to limit noise and disturbances. To this end, we carried out some of the works at night and ensured that we did not disturb any residents of this tranquil partly residential area
