Renovations and construction in the Bell Centre

QMD completed several major construction, layout and redesign projects at the Bell Centre over the past few years. In 2016, our team was contracted for an interior redesign project that included the following elements and others: construction of locker rooms, renovation of the journalist’s room and the kitchen for the event setup teams ; construction of a new lodge above the arena bleachers that required a steel structure that is supported by the roof ; redesign of lodges on levels 300 and 500 ; redesign of passageways on different levels including the food court ; renovation of the La Mise au Jeu restaurant which involved the repair of several finishes, the replacement of equipment and furniture in the buffet area and a restaurant refresh.

These works were divided into several phases and had to meet client needs and be completed quickly (fast track) without impacting the client experience or major events. The Bell Centre is a world-renowned building and QMD succeeded in respecting quality standards when it came to works execution and finishes and ensuring that the client’s needs were met. We took the matches and events into account when planning our works so as not to disturb any clients or visitors.

As the project progressed, the plans were tweaked in collaboration with professionals in the field and our client. The QMD management team was involved in every project phase, from drafting to sign-off. Several projects included the installation of LEED® lighting. The Project Manager and Superintendent scheduled each step of this project and ensured that every last deadline was met.
