Rockhill Apartment Complex
Rockhill Apartment Complex is a huge 6-tower rental complex in Côte-des-Neiges, a very densely populated and busy Montreal neighborhood.
In 2013, QMD was contracted to renovate several areas of this complex. We delivered a varied range of works in 6 different buildings. Some of these projects involved working on the building structure: the installation of a steel structure and a curtain wall, for example. Others were exterior renovation and development projects: the construction of a new pavilion linking the commercial area, renovation of semi-covered marquees, restoration of stairs and lateral concrete curbs, replacement of 133,000 sq. ft. of roof membranes over the underground parking lot. We also built a new stairs inside the building, relocated the electromechanical equipment and added a new laundry room.
Due to the fact that the neighborhood is densely populated, the space allocated for carrying out these restoration works was very small. Thanks to close cooperation between the Superintendent, the Project Coordinator and the Health & Safety Officer, we were able to plan an efficient sequence of works and site logistics. This also allowed us to achieve our mission without disturbing the residents of the Rockhill complex. We were very strict when it came to limiting noise and dust pollution.
Our client was very happy with the result and, during the project, contracted us to manage new construction phases which involved restoring the corridors and completely revamping the penthouses .
