QMD delivered 3 different projects for the W Hotel in downtown Montreal.
In 2015, we completed renovated the hotel’s 148 bedrooms on 8 floors. We replaced the flooring and paintwork and installed new furniture (armchairs, chairs, tables, beds and decorative items), restored the doors and doorframes and revamped the bathrooms. Due to the age of the building, each room is a different size so we had to take this into account during the planning stage. We took the time to carefully select a range of wallpaper that matched the furniture. Furthermore, we completed our works while the hotel was operational. We have extensive experience in working in occupied buildings so we planned each stage in order to limit noise and avoid disturbing the guests.
During the same year, we completely redesigned the E.A.T restaurant. We demolished the old dining room, removed the carpet, restored the wall decor and partially upgraded the kitchens. Our goal was to create a minimalist open space with white walls where artists could come and work on an exposed canvas. The restaurant is now designed to host themed evenings linked to major Montreal events such as the Jazz Festival, MTL à Table, Montréal en Lumière and the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The W Hotel team was very happy with our work on both sites and, in 2017, contracted us to renovate the hotel’s 3 luxury suites. The suites have 16-foot ceilings and make up a total of 24,200 sq. ft. We were committed to respecting the hotel’s elegance and meeting the client’s expectations so we sourced high-end materials and took great care to ensure that the finish and workmanship were impeccable. We also made sure that every deadline was met.
